Byrne: Kozar Duo – soprano Corrine Byrne and trumpeter Andrew Kozar, both Longy faculty members, are releasing their first CD,  It Floats Away From You, today, August 4, 2023, on New Focus Recordings.

The recording features compositions by Alexandre Lunsqui, Beth Wiemann, Li Qi, Lei Liang, Vid Smooke, Jeffrey Gavett, Chris Cresswell, and yours truly. My piece “A Lady,” in quarter-tone tuning, is a setting of a poem written in 1917 by Amy Lowell. Here is a clip from the recording.

On August 6th, the duo have a release event at Lilypad in Cambridge, MA. The $20 ticket price also gets you a copy of the CD.
